I took the dive into the StudioPress Genesis framework with this site using the Outreach child theme, and it came out looking terrific with these color changes and fantastic selection of photos.

Starbucker’s Business Cards

These were by far my favorite business cards I’ve designed to date. I incorporated the design from terrystarbucker.com onto the front side, including the two-tone name, sidebar effect for the contact info, and his half-full glass. I carried the theme over onto the other side and re-vamped the name area, added the SOBCon logo, and changed the color scheme to match the logo.

Another Thesis site, this time with crazy modifications, including Disqus commenting, nutritional stats in the sidebar, and the soon-to-be Thesis 1.7 headline hiding feature for some asides posts. We’ll see how long this takes to get to the front page of Google in a tough market.

Terry and I have known each other since December 2006 and met in May 2007 at SOBCon, the first annual blogging conference for business bloggers in Chicago. That December he asked me to migrate his site from Blogger (blogspot.com) to a self-hosted WordPress site. We put in a premium theme and got him going with real blogging with a real platform.

Now two years have passed and it was time to give it a new look to keep up with the times and do some house-keeping with the categories from 4 years of posts. Here was the site before:

Brad Shorr, also featured in my portfolio several times, has several clients we are working with in conjunction to provide a full spectrum of both content and design services. The previous site was on a domain that included a static site front end and a poorly-constructed, out-of-date WordPress blog for the post content.

We brought the site up to speed on a new domain with better long-term SEO value and a full-blown WordPress as a CMS and blog rolled into one installation running on the Thesis theme framework. Below is what we started with on the old domain to get to what is above.

I went with the same colors for his Twitter page as I did for both his personal site and the book site. I incorporated the background and the internal Twitter text/links from the book site and used some splashes of orange from his personal site.
